Title:  Communications Project Manager

Job Description:

Your Mission at Virgin Galactic

Virgin Galactic's events are not like other companies' events. We host guests at the spaceship factory in the Arizona desert, and the Spaceport in New Mexico, make announcements at global airshows, produce unique experiences for a variety of our external audiences. We produce moments that need to feel as extraordinary as the program they're representing. The person in this role will be responsible for project managing and executing our events, on time and on brief.

As Communications Project Manager, you'll support the planning, coordination, and execution of events and projects across the Communications & Marketing team: from trade shows and media moments to internal offsites and partner activations. You'll work across every function in the business, manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, and be the person everyone trusts to have the details covered. Support the company strategy by holding ourselves and one another accountable for getting the work done.

This role suits someone who is exceptionally organized, calm under pressure, and finds genuine satisfaction in the craft of a well-run event.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute internal and external events including conferences, product launches, media moments, trade shows, and team offsites.
  • Own logistics end-to-end: venue, vendors, travel, catering, materials, on-site coordination.
  • Build and maintain project timelines, track deliverables, manage budgets and keep stakeholders aligned on milestones.
  • Collaborate across departments: communications, marketing, sales, legal, operations to gather requirements and deliver against them.
  • Manage event communications: invitations, briefing documents, reminders, and post-event follow-up.
  • Maintain clear project documentation and status reporting throughout each workstream.
  • Monitor budgets, process invoices, and flag variances proactively.
  • Participate in on-site event setup and breakdown, this is a hands-on role.
  • Evaluate outcomes and gather feedback to improve how we do it next time.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in events coordination, project management, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously without losing detail.
  • Exceptionally organized: you work from clear systems, not memory, and others can rely on your tracking.
  • Strong communicator, written and verbal.
  • Comfortable owning a budget: tracking spend, processing invoices, and flagging issues early.
  • Proactive by nature: you anticipate problems before they surface and solve them quietly.
  • At ease in environments that are fast-moving, occasionally ambiguous, and always high-expectation.
  • Experience with or genuine interest in aerospace, luxury, or experiential brand environments is a plus.
  • Demonstrate willingness to adjust thinking and behavior.
  • Ability to communicate in a manner that is timely, respectful, and open to other ideas.
